The Signal workshops

A series of workshops tied together with string, investigating the process of ideas and development of practical skills in the realm of print production.
This project is about going beyond DIY, without losing integrity or the hands on, lived in approach to publishing.

Participants will initially engage in a weekend of creative workshops in early February. Exploring ideas punctuated with hands on activities, playing with words and experimenting with drawing. You will gain insight into producing content for publication and contribute finished pieces towards a collaborative publication.
Production will happen in March bringing together the work in a printed and bound form, the workshops will focus on the layout and print process, screenprinting, bookbinding and distribution.

All workshops are free and are open to 16 to 20 year olds with an enthusiasm for print expression and publication. Younger people will be considered.
Saturday and Sundays 3-6pm
Artplay on Birrarung Marr (behind Federation Square),
all details will be confirmed with participants.
